In Saxony-Anhalt, the position of honour is at the far left when facing the flag. That is where the European flag is displayed, with the federal flag to the right, followed by the Land flag or Land institutions flag.

Sections IV (Flags to be displayed) and V (Manner in which flags shall be displayed) of the Federal Government Decree concerning the display of flags at official buildings of the Federation are applied in Saxony-Anhalt as appropriate.

Flags may be displayed at the official buildings of the supreme Land authorities and Land parliament round the clock.
