In Rhineland-Palatinate, the Land flag is always displayed. There is no set order (position of honour) when multiple flags are displayed.

On Europe Day and the day of elections to the European Parliament, the European flag is hoisted in addition to the Land flag, if possible. Although Section 2 of the Land directive on flag displays at official buildings still refers to Europe Day as being observed on 5 May, flags are displayed for Europe Day on 9 May by relevant decree.
