In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the position of honour is at the far left as seen when facing the building.

That is where the European flag is displayed, with the federal flag to the right, followed by the Land flag or Land institutions flag. The regions of Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania may also display their traditional flags. For official flag displays, the parliament hoists the Land flag and the flags of both regions.
